At Idealist, I oversee Ideas for Action. As a lifelong nonprofit professional, I love that I'm able to offer job seekers, nonprofit professionals, and aspiring sector switchers the tools and tips they need to find, land, love, and grow-in their social-impact careers.

In my role at Idealist I get to work with many incredible people inside and outside the organization. After spending several years in the private and government sectors, I found a true home at Idealist many years ago. I'm a political junkie who loves a good debate, serendipitous research, big ideas, my smart and hilarious coworkers, reading, music, and traveling as much as possible.

Ami is the founder and executive director of Idealist.org. Built in 1996 with $3,500, Idealist has become one of the most popular nonprofit resources on the web, with information provided by 150,000 organizations around the world. Ami was born in Jerusalem, grew up in Peru and in Mexico, and lives in New York with his wife and daughters.

As Client Success Manager, I have the opportunity to support Idealist's continuously growing nonprofit community. Bringing over 15 years of experience working in the social impact sector, I value being able to build strong relationships with our organizations and helping them actualize their hiring goals.

Outside of my work with Idealist, I am a Jeopardy-loving mom to two active toddlers. 

I was born in Brooklyn and now have an art studio less than a mile away from the hospital I was born in. I am a mixed media artist and love serving my community through art and mentoring. My first non-profit job was at Queens Library while I was in college. After I graduated, I began working Operations and Human Resources in various charter schools throughout New York City.

At Idealist, I have the privilege of working as a Community Support Associate. This is my first time working in the non-profit sector, and I am enjoying every moment of it. Before Idealist, I worked in the customer service industry for over 10 years. Helping other people brings me great joy and satisfaction. When I am not at work, I am enjoying nature, listening to music, hanging out with my wife, and watching TV.

I'm happy to be a member of the Idealist team as a Community Support Associate. Although I started my career in the science and healthcare industries, making the jump over to the non-profit sector has been a rewarding and overwhelmingly positive experience. In my spare time I enjoy nature, photography, and spending time with my wonderful husband.

At Idealist I am part of the Idealist Days Organizing Team. I help with the coordination of Idealist Day events in the NYC area and abroad. I was born and raised in the Bronx, NY (proud native!). My background includes 10+ years working in the nonprofit sector and education including doing administrative work, case management and college counseling for high schoolers. Inspired by the goal of connecting people to make positive changes where they live and the world, I joined Idealist and am happy to be a part of this great community. When I’m not in the office, I am at home with my sons and husband enjoying a Yankee game, watching my fav Netflix shows, taking a cycling class, reading or roaming NYC for some fun time activities.

As Social Media Specialist at Idealist, I harness the power of social media to connect with, inspire, and grow our network of seekers by developing and implementing social and community engagement strategies across a variety of platforms. Bringing over six years of experience managing digital strategy and content creation across government, political campaigns, and nonprofits, I’m driven to create positive change through the exciting landscape of social media. Outside of work, I enjoy quality time with friends and family, spending time outdoors and at the beach, and trying new foods across Los Angeles' food scene. 

Connecting with people, ideas and resources to make the world a better place is not just my job, it is simply who I am and how I choose to interact with others. I serve the Idealist community in Spanish speaking countries from my hometown in Madrid, Spain.

Creating content to inspire people to imagine, connect and act, building relationships for future and meaningful partnerships, providing support to our community, and managing our social media channels, are some of the hats that I were every day.

When I am not working, traveling and learning about diversity in the world is something that I deeply enjoy. Besides that, you can find me experimenting with all kinds of handicrafts from ceramics to watercolors to how to create a podcast, all just for fun.

(they/them) I came to Idealist in 2012 with a background in political campaigns, fundraising, advocacy, and higher education. Now, as the Director of Audience Success, I'm laser-focused on nonprofit job seekers and their needs, advocating for them internally in programming, marketing, and product decisions. When I’m not at work, I’m writing or spending time with my boisterous kiddo.

After spending some time working at an e-commerce site as an account manager, I decided to quit and pursue work within the nonprofit sector which led me to Idealist. I currently live in Bloomfield, NJ with my husband and our two cats. When I’m not at work, I love cooking and working on DIY projects for my home.

I oversee the content and resources we share at Idealist to help organizations, prospective grad students, and job seekers have an impact in their personal and professional lives. In my spare time, I love to read, cook, and explore New York's restaurant scene.

After years of finding nonprofit jobs using Idealist, in 2004 I was offered the opportunity to come full circle and work for Idealist. I've worn many hats over the years supporting both our amazing community and awesome staff. Though I loved my time in NYC, I am currently based in San Francisco, CA. My two kids keep me busy and we're always looking for new activities to be involved in our community. I practice yoga, run the trails in Golden Gate Park, and coach youth sports.

I began my social-impact career at Idealist over 10 years ago, starting out as an intern supporting one of our event programs. Fast forward to today, and I am the Head of Client and Audience Success. I lead the team dedicated to Idealist's core service: connecting and serving the needs of hiring organizations and social-impact job seekers.

Outside of work I’m focused on a new hobby: road cycling. Always wear a helmet!

As the Project Manager, I help keep our busy team organized as we work towards our collective goal to connect people with opportunities that turn intention into action. When not thinking of and implementing new ways to keep us on track, I am usually working on my own projects as a cross-genre fiction writer. I also enjoy reading, editing, and learning as much as I can about human behavior. I react to every dog I see like I’ve never seen a dog before.

As the Community Support Lead I assist both organizations and seekers within the Idealist community. Prior to joining Idealist I spent time working as an early childhood education teacher before transitioning into an office setting, having worked in both e-commerce and the nonprofit sector with a focus on customer service. Outside the office I enjoy spending time with my husband and our cat as well as catching up on true crime podcasts, reading, and spending time outdoors. 

I am from Ecuador, and 10 years ago I worked with Idealist from Argentina. I am happy to be back with the organization since 2019.

I am a sociologist and I have always worked in the development sector, especially on issues related to children's rights and the environment . Currently, I am the supporting Idealist's community building efforts in Latin America and Spain. I am in charge of supporting our users and organizations in the region; feeding useful content to the Idealist site in Spanish; and developing alliances and partnerships to enhance the positive impact of organizations and civic initiatives.

I am also an instructor of women's self defense, and I love plants!

Multimedia storyteller with a background in community arts, video production, and illustration. At Idealist, I lead design strategy, creating media that inspires people to work together to change the world.

Timing is everything. I arrived at idealist as a volunteer and was soon hooked by the meaningful work of the organization. At the same time, I was ready for a change at my long-standing corporate job. The stars were aligned and I made the career and sector change. I now serve Idealist in a multifaceted External Relations role and could not be happier! When not working, I am a passionate activist for animal rights and related campaigns, thrive on traveling, stay fit with indoor cycling, expel adrenaline by attending live sporting events and most importantly, I'm always on the hunt for creatively prepared vegan food, both at plant-based and traditional restaurants. 

I am originally from Sacramento, and I moved to New York in 2015 after living in the Bay Area for 10 years (starting with college). I previously worked at Citizen Engagement Laboratory and Condé Nast as a front-end developer, and have an interest both in digital storytelling and data visualization. When I am not writing code, I enjoy traveling, writing and performing music, and trying to cook.

Product Manager by day, amateur carpentress and food enthusiast by night. In a former life, I owned a food business and spent my weekends vending at farmers markets across NYC. Whether it be digital, edible, or with wood, I've always enjoyed building functional things and problem solving. At Idealist, I love collaborating with many clever minds on thoughtful projects and sharing delectable meals together.

At Idealist, I engage idealists around the word to support them & their communities in their on-the-ground efforts to make a difference. I love connecting like-minded and like-hearted people from different backgrounds to find creative solutions to common problems. Before coming to Idealist, I worked at TED conferences, growing the TEDx community and keeping the TED brand consistent across different cultures and interpretations.

When I'm not actively talking with someone halfway around the world, I'm busy traveling somewhere halfway around the world :)

Did you know there are 9 countries in the world where Portuguese is spoken? And that around 250 million people speak Portuguese? My role is to invite all of them to the idealist community and to support their actions so that we can create a better world together. 

I am a serial social entrepreneur who believes deeply that we can - and we will - create an ideal world after all of us imagine all that can be done by the full use of our own power and responsibility, connect with ourselves, each other and the planet, and act creatively and lovingly on our intentions.

I enjoy people, nature, learning and connecting people.

I grew up in Orlando, FL or "The City Beautiful" as people like to call it. Before coming to Idealist, I spent my days playing trombone in symphony orchestras, punk, ska, and hip-hop bands, and with the Tubafours at Walt Disney World. At Idealist, I keep the books well groomed and oversee all aspects of the organization's financials. Outside the office you can find me playing the occasional 'bone gig, spending time with my lovely family, or perfecting the art of smoking meat in the backyard.

I grew up in Fort Collins, Colorado and spent many years volunteering with my father at a local non-profit organization. I have always been interested in the work done by non-profits and other social impact organizations, but worked in a variety of other sectors before coming to Idealist. My previous professional experiences include everything from searching for hawk nests, to teaching music courses, to providing customer support for telemedicine patients. As a Community Support Associate at Idealist, I have the pleasure of assisting both organizations and individuals within our community. In my free time you will find me hiking, camping, traveling, playing Balinese gamelan, or spending time with my human and furry family members.
