Our nonprofit salary survey asks for a few pieces of key information—like title, salary, years of experience, location, and optional demographics.
We use this information to help nonprofit professionals like you navigate salary information in aggregate and learn what you could be paid in another city, or in a different role, or at an organization of a different size.

The salaries displayed are adjusted to account for increases in national wages and salaries. Older data will be updated using the Employment Cost Index for wages and salaries for civilian workers, published by the Bureau of Labour Statistics.
For location, depending on available data, we may serve you the exact location you enter, especially if you live in a large metropolitan area. In smaller locales, we may group locations and present information for cities or towns of similar mean annual wage. In other cases where we have less data, we may offer a national average.
Depending on available data, we may expand your search to include similar titles and/or a broader range of years of experience. This will definitely change as more salaries are added to the database.
We've also begun offering an 'Estimated Range,' a machine learning algorithm trained on survey submissions to predict salaries for different titles, locations, and experience.
Our data doesn't include salary ranges from job listings. Incorporating this data would certainly add more information to our database, but a posted salary range doesn't reflect an actual salary, and is less useful as a result. Instead, we rely on the sources detailed above.
