Facilities Associate

The Karsh Family Social Service Center (the “Karsh Center”) is in the heart of Los Angeles’s Koreatown neighborhood. The Karsh Center, is a social service center offering integrated services focusing on Food and Nutrition Security, Health and Wellness, Community Services, and Parent and Child Well-being for individuals and families living in one of the most densely populated areas of Los Angeles. Centralizing these services directly with the assistance of volunteers and through a collaboration of providers at the Karsh Center enables us to offer a variety of vital services to our community. The Karsh Center is a 501 (c)(3) non-religious organization. 

Primary Responsibilities

We are looking for a passionate and dedicated Facilities Associate to join our team and contribute to our mission of providing essential services and programs especially our food pantry programs to those in need. The Facilities Associate will need to be bilingual in Spanish/English, have a valid California driver's license and will work across all of our programs: Karsh Mobile, Food Pantry and support Operations such as deliveries and building maintenance. The Facilities Associate will work directly with our Facilities Lead, the Program Manager and Program Coordinator. This is a full-time position with scheduling to accommodate the center’s programmatic and operational needs. This position reports to the Karsh Center’s Program Manager.

Duties will include but are not limited to: 

• Cleaning and maintaining the facility.
• Performs technical and labor tasks as needed.
• Drives to pick up and deliver food and supplies.
• Contribute to the operation of Karsh Center programs.
• Assist with daily maintenance and cleaning responsibilities.
• Assist in receiving deliveries and stocking supplies.
• Assist in driving to pick up and drop off food and other supplies.
• Sets up and removes chairs, tables and other logistics for events and meetings.
• Assists the Engineer team in duties, such as light bulb replacements, building desk furniture, and graffiti removal.
• Hourly, non-exempt position.

Qualifications and Prerequisites

• Bilingual English/Spanish required.
• 1-3 years of experience working in a warehouse/facilities environment.
• Knowledge of safety standards.
• Attention to detail.
• Ability to work in a fast paced environment.
• Ability to take direction, ask questions for clarification and be flexible.
• Experience working and cleaning office buildings.
• Experience with the use and knowledge of different types of cleaning supplies. 
• Experience working with diverse populations.
• Works well with others and in a team environment.
• Knowledge of basic tools required.
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds. 
• Must maintain a current and valid California State driver’s license.
