The Program Manager, 414 Fellows AmeriCorps is responsible for leading and supporting activities related to the Marquette University 414 Fellows AmeriCorps Program, a cornerstone program of the Center for Community Service and Social Responsibility in the Office of Student Development. They will work as a part of a highly collaborative community service team while providing support, supervision, and training to AmeriCorps Fellows, including recruitment and training, host site support at Next Door, and all compliance, monitoring, reporting, evaluation, and AmeriCorps grant obligations.
The Marquette University 414 Fellows program is one of the largest and most comprehensive service programs in the Center for Community Service and Social Responsibility. The program provides one-on-one serve and return activities for 40 children, age 0-3 years, in Early Head Start learners at Next Door in Milwaukee with the goals of achieving age-appropriate language skills and seeing an increase in school readiness. Next Door serves nearly 1,400 children a year from birth to five years with a focus of getting children reading for school. Marquette students serve as the 414 Fellows, each providing 300 hours of service spanning 26 weeks during their academic year. In partnership with Next Door, 414 Fellows are trained and prepared to engage individually with the young learners, understanding how to best serve historically underserved populations with concentrated poverty and faith-based organizations.

Duties and Responsibilities
1. Serve as the primary investigator of the 414 AmeriCorps grant, working collaboratively with SERVE Wisconsin, Next Door, and key offices on campus to ensure compliance and success of the program.
2. Oversee the recruitment, selection, and onboarding process for AmeriCorps members by creating and distributing community and outreach materials on campus, evaluating candidates, and ensuring all necessary onboarding paperwork, background and checks and processes are completed to meet federal and state regulations.
3. Lead the 414 Fellows member team training, development, reflection, and programming including assessing needs, facilitating workshops, engaging outside trainers, and evaluating member development.
4. In partnership with Next Door, implement all program objectives and performance measures, record keeping, and required quarterly reports.
5. Provide oversight to ensure member completion of all required paperwork for AmeriCorps and Marquette University including required information for payroll system, time keeping systems, member development, grant compliance and maintaining important files.
6. Provide direct supervision of coordinator and student program assistants who are responsible for administrative tasks, member support and maintaining grant obligations.
7. Be an active program staff member with AmeriCorps representatives, attend required AmeriCorps meetings and keep up with important communication from the Corporation for National and Community Service and SERVE Wisconsin.
8. In collaboration with your supervisor and Marquette staff, assist with the managing program finances, including processing and tracking of member support expenses, contracts, reimbursements, purchasing, payroll, and ensuring adherence to organizational and federal guidance.
9. Lead and support internal and external program communication, marketing, and program impact work, including consistently sharing the program successes, maintain active contact lists and engage with member alumni.
10. Collaborate with campus colleagues and community partners to support the work of community service and social responsibility, including program partnerships with service events, the Justice in Action Conference, Marquette orientation and other community engagement efforts.
11. Participate in the Division of Student Affairs committees, activities and programs; be a resource for other campus offices in community service program development and supporting social justice and community-based learning.
Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
Bachelor’s degree (Masters Degree Preferred)
Minimum 3 years of relevant professional program and administrative experience in higher education, service/community engagement programs, and/or AmeriCorps programs.
Detailed-orientated, highly organized, and ability to meet requirements, deadlines and ensuring grant compliance standards.
Possess strong oral and written communication skills, public speaking, facilitation and programing skills.
Is self-motivated, independent, sets goals and can make important decisions on behalf of the program.
Technical skills and abilities to navigate online databases and software, budget systems, data analysis and online reporting.
Excellent interpersonal skills and commitment to intercultural education, community service, social justice, and ability to work collaboratively with people of different backgrounds, perceptions, and experiences.

Availability to work some nights and weekends when needed to ensure quality member and student experience.
