    For over a century, the Johns Hopkins University School of Education (SOE) has been preparing educators to make a difference in the lives of children, youth and adults. Grounded in the Johns Hopkins tradition of research and innovation, the school prepares educational leaders and develops research-based models of instruction that are making lasting improvements in student achievement - from early childhood to the adult learner. The school addresses some of the most challenging problems facing education today through:

    The school's three research and development centers create new research-based models of instruction that are making lasting improvements in student achievement across the country.

    Center for Research and Reform in Education - Obtains, analyzes and distributes the very latest educational research to bring meaningful reform to America's best under-performing public schools.

    Center for Social Organization of Schools - Conducts programmatic research to improve the educational system, as well as develops curricula and provides technical assistance to help schools use the Center's research.

    Center for Technology in Education - Improves the quality of life and children and youth through teaching, research, and leadership in the use of technology.
