    As our full-time Development and Communications Coordinator, you are an essential member of our development team, supporting our communications with donors and donor prospects.  You will identify opportunities through donor prospecting and help cultivate meaningful relationships with major donors who can fund the next generation of orthopaedic care. Serving as our donor relations representative, you will respond to donor communications, execute gift processing and acknowledgments and ensure our donor records and reporting are up-to-date and accurate. You will also serve as the liaison with Executive Board, Leadership Council members and other key constituents.

    Your Rewards:

      • Compensation: $30 - $32.50 per hour (equivalent to $62,400 - $68,000 annually), DOE; eligible for overtime pay

    Responsibilities:

    Development Support and Coordination:

    • Supports the Director of Development (DD)
    • Supports the Senior Director of Research and Operations with Board of Directors and Leadership Council meetings and related activities: prepares schedules, agendas/meeting materials, takes minutes, prepares/sends follow-up communications to members
    • Serves as primary contact for inquiries and special requests from donors, partners, volunteers, and key constituents; responds in a timely manner
    • Supports and coordinates all donor development activities associated with cultivation, stewardship, solicitation and recognition of donors
    • Coordinates major gift donor prospecting by performing wealth screening and online research; prepares profiles on donors
    • Provides event support: sets up meetings, organizes catering, produces agendas, sends out invitations, and manages RSVP’s
    • Manages all database activities in Blackbaud’s eTapestry, including managing moves with donors and all donor interactions
    • Streamlines operations, data reporting, gift processing, donor acknowledgements, and program administration, reception and office management

    Communications Support and Coordination

    • Supports the Director of Communications (DC)
    • Works with DC to assist in development of original inspiring content for printed branded collateral, white papers, direct mailing fundraising campaigns, etc.
    • Works with DC to assist in development of original inspiring digital content for fundraising appeals, social media, email newsletters, and organization’s website
    • Develops and assists in creating compelling and visually appealing PowerPoint presentations for fundraising pitches and academic conferences 
    • Collaborates and coordinates with freelance designers, videographers, and creators to assist in developing inspiring content and stories 
    • Interacts with patients to capture their recovery stories and athletic accomplishments; typically, in the form of phone/in-person interviews, email correspondence, and social media conversation
    • Uploads and schedules posts on all social media platforms
    • Monitors community outreach on social media channels

    Qualifications:

    • Commitment to The Stone Research Foundation’s mission
    • Minimum of three years’ nonprofit development experience
    • Proficient with iWave donor research software and e-Tapestry or similar tools and database; strong technology acumen; proficiency with data management and reporting
    • Strong administrative skills, knowledge of Excel, PowerPoint, and other Microsoft products
    • Strong donor relations/customer service orientation; proven ability to communicate effectively with donors and key constituents
    • Experience in fundraising development, especially working with high level major donors, volunteers, and prospects
    • Strong verbal, interpersonal communications, writing, and editing skills; light graphic design and copy- writing experience, preferred
    • Strong analytical/problem-solving skills; organized and detail-oriented; ability to manage multiple projects with competing priorities and meet deadlines
    • Excellent project management skills and the ability to prioritize in a fast-changing environment
    • Proactive self-starter requiring minimal supervision, also working well on a team
    • Previous work in a medical center, clinical care and/or medical research environment, a plus
    • Must be able to work from our Foundation office in San Francisco
