Our Commitment to Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion
As a women and BIPOC-owned company in the tech space, we know first-hand the importance of including a diversity of voices and experiences in building and advising on the strategic use of technology, even more so when that technology is meant to help amplify those working toward social justice and impact. In that, we strive to not only hire according to these values, but to uphold values, practices and ways of working that make technology itself more accessible to all, and that disrupt traditional consulting models that are deficiency-based rather than strengths-based and co-creative. We strive to work in a way that allows us to iterate and continually evaluate whether we are meeting clients where they are and evaluate the impacts of our work.
The Sertus “WAY” is:
- Honest
- We prioritize upfront, consistent, and honest communication with both clients and team members.
- We openly discuss costs, challenges, strengths, and deliverables to foster transparency and trust.
- We cultivate an environment where our team of independent experts openly communicate and share best practices.
- Outcomes-Driven
- We are laser-focused on the outcomes our clients will experience and the emotions they will feel as we build their solutions.
- We proactively provide recommendations to clients, constantly seeking ways to improve their systems and their experience with us.
- We are committed to understanding the big picture and the nuances of each client team and their processes; delivering the value that they care about most, paying attention to how our work affects their mission and has a meaningful impact.
- Purposefully Efficient
- We focus our time on creating transformation, not on reporting updates on hours/work done.
- We are prepared for and follow through on every interaction to make the most use of everyone’s time.
- We prioritize efficiency, scale, and continuously question any task that may seem like unnecessary “busy work.”
- Accessible
- We use plain talk, no jargon/consultant speak.
- We don’t ask clients to sign up for our tools and platforms to work with us, we use theirs because we are here to make things easier for them.
- We consider the diverse learning needs of our clients and team members, fostering an inclusive environment.
- We believe in the importance of ongoing training and evaluation, recognizing that they are critical for our continued success as well as that of our clients.
- We have a multi-lingual team to better serve clients from different backgrounds and language preferences.
