Lead Co-Teachers - Family Literacy

Orange Literacy is looking for a two Lead Co- Teachers for our Family Literacy Program, Tuesday and Thursday mornings at our Carrboro location.

The Family Literacy Program offers English language classes for parents with children ages 0-5. For two hours a day, children and their parents have classes separately so that they can focus on literacy lessons at their appropriate level. During those two hours, their classes overlap for 30 minutes to practice their reading together. 

This is a an exciting opportunity to work with an international community of parents and children. Applicants must be inclusive, patient and energetic. 

Skills

• Early education experience preferred
• Childcare experience required
• ESL experience preferred
• Class planning experience preferred
• CPR certification preferred
• COVID conscious

Part-time, HS Diploma or HS Equivalency required. English required. Other language skills helpful, but not required. Background check necessary.
