Co-Manager for Chimpanzee Sanctuary in Cameroon

Sanaga-Yong Chimpanzee Rescue (www.sychimprescue.org) seeks a compassionate professional with a strong work ethic to serve as Co-Manager for our chimpanzee sanctuary in rural Cameroon.

Responsibilities include:

-    Managing daily operations at the sanctuary

-   Working with co-manager, assistant manager, construction manager, veterinarians, caregivers, and volunteers to ensure the best care possible for resident chimpanzees  

Required Qualifications: 

-   Fluency in English, spoken and written 

-   Conversational French 

-   Strong interest in chimpanzees and conservation

-   Management experience 

-   Strong computer experience: MS Excel, Word 

-   Proven math/accounting skills 

-   Good attention to detail 

-   Previous residency in developing country 

Strongly Prefer:

-   Experience working with great apes and/or monkeys

-   Work experience at an animal sanctuary as a staff member or volunteer

-   Experience supervising a culturally diverse staff

 Compensation:

Salary to be discussed, depending on experience

Lodging, food & internet provided

Living Situation:

      Private accommodation on forested grounds of sanctuary (near Belabo, Cameroon)

  This is a full-time position. Work schedule and vacation time to be discussed.
