    DEVELOPMENT DEPARTMENT

    POSITION DESCRIPTION

    POSITION: Development Associate– Annual Giving and Membership

    STATUS: Non-Exempt

    REPORTS TO: Chief Development Officer (CDO)

    POSITION SUMMARY: Under the direction of the CDO, communicates with donors and members about upcoming events, membership invitations, and other initiatives. This position is ideal for a high-energy extrovert who is interested in building relationships with donors. Career training and trajectory for this role will naturally gravitate towards becoming a Major Gift officer.  


    PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:

    • Serves as primary staff liaison to the Membership Subcommittee, managing Fellow volunteer opportunities and engagement and assist volunteers with the recruitment efforts of potential new Fellows.
    • Serve as primary staff liaison to the Kids Chance Committee, coordinating scholarship recipient sponsorships
    • Uses phone and printed material to increase community participation at fundraising events, Membership drives, and other support efforts.
    • Supports the maintenance of development records, recognition, acknowledgements, and all related correspondence.
    • Attends Organizational Events and Receptions as instructed
    • Delivers Donor recognition gifts as befits geographic areas.
    • As a member of the Development Department staff, represent the LBF at networking events to aid in recruitment and volunteer engagement efforts, and provide support of the statewide volunteer network, including the identification of volunteer leadership.
    • Other Responsibilities as assigned.


    QUALIFICATIONS:

    • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Communications, or a related field.
    • 2 Years Experience in Fundraising, Event Planning, or a related field.
    • Excellent Phone etiquette
    • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
    • Proficiency with database software and word processing
    • Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to work well with a team.
    • Positive attitude, flexibility, punctuality, accuracy
