The current crisis has brought significant health needs. Conflict and displacement have affected health services both directly and indirectly. Medair is working to re-establish health services, supporting with medical equipment, medication, and repairs, and providing high-quality training to health staff. Medair is also working to improve access for vulnerable individuals in communities to essential health services.

Starting Date / Initial Contract Details
September 1, 2024. Full-time, 6-12 months
Key Activity Areas
• Health Management: Oversee implementation, management, and support of health projects and staff health, conduct field trips for supervision, and ensure regular monitoring, evaluation, and reporting.
• MEAL and project design: Integrate beneficiary participation, oversee data processes, and contribute to country strategy and new project development.
• Staff Management: Manage and oversee the health team, their day-to-day management, providing coaching, mentoring, and training.
• Communication and Coordination: Develop and maintain communication structures with the health team, and represent Medair at relevant local level coordination meetings.
• Financial Management: Work with the relevant field managers to plan, construct and manage health budgets. Achieve health project outcomes within budget and timeframe, manage budget aspects.
• Administration: Ensure proper filing and archiving of all project records as per Medair, donor, and local authority requirements.
• Logistics: Manage the correct and timely ordering of all necessary medicines, supplies and equipment, ensuring minimum stocks are maintained and items are stored and distributed correctly.
• Clinical degree or diploma (nurse, midwife, or doctor), Public Health, or other relevant degree
• Language skills: Good English (spoken and written)
• 1-2 years of post-qualification experience in a relevant profession
• Experience in the NGO sector desired
• Computer literate with strong working knowledge of Microsoft Excel, Word, Outlook and PowerPoint
• Team-player with good inter-personal skills
• Good communicator, able to pass on information efficiently
• Aptitude for community mobilisation and capacity-building
• Able to cope with basic living conditions in the field and during field trips
• Ability and willingness to manage project implementation
