    ABOUT THE POSITION:

    Accounts Receivable Specialist at Main Office; Green Lake Neighborhood, Seattle

    Full-time position $24 - $28/hour DOE with benefits; Reports to Administrative Supervisor

    Samaritan Center of Puget Sound is a non-profit, spiritually-integrated counseling agency that works with couples, families and individuals in King and Snohomish counties. www.samaritanps.org

    General Description:

    The Accounts Receivable Specialist prepares and maintains client records of the center and performs related financial tasks. This person prepares and maintains client insurance records, files insurance claims and manages account files and records. Working as a cross–functional office team member is an important aspect of this position.

    Job Profile:

    •   Record revenue on client accounts, day sheets
    •   Manage aged accounts
    •   Record accounts payable and accounts receivable
    •   Prepare and File Insurance Materials
    •   Prepare and submit insurance claims
    •   Enter data on insurance records and medical billing
    •   Communicate with clients, staff, and insurance companies about insurance claims/payments
    •   Maintain client files on insurance claims and payment
    •   Answer phone calls and respond to inquiries and requests
    •   Carry out other duties as assigned

    Desired Experience and Qualifications:

    A degree from a college or university or comparable training and/or experience in finances

    • Two years minimum of office and financial experience
    • Knowledge of bookkeeping principles, methods, and practices
    • Ability to use standard office equipment
    • Ability to maintain HIPAA standards of confidentiality
    • Ability to deal professionally and effectively with the public
    • Demonstration of skills in MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook)
    • Proficiency with accounting and billing software (Valant a plus)
    • Ability to manage a wide variety of activities and functions simultaneously
    • Access to reliable transportation
    • Puzzle solving ability highly desired
