    Description

    POSITION DESCRIPTION

    The Facilitator coordinates and facilitates client & volunteer trainings, workshops, providing participants with education, training, financial literacy, support working on resumes, searching for jobs, doing virtual job interviews, career searches – and assisting participants by assessing needs and developing a plan to address them (including coordinating with our existing resource navigator to connect with housing, transportation, food, technology, childcare, etc.) This role works directly to help our participants gain and maintain stable, living wage jobs – and support them in gaining the financial skills to begin building intergenerational wealth as they progress in their careers. 

    This new educator/facilitator position will work in our career development lab which is available to all DFSO clients, though is focused primarily on low-income women and gender expansive individuals, in particular those on public assistance who receive supplemental assistance.

    KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

    • Coordinate and host daily, weekly and monthly trainings/workshops in our Career Education Lab for both our Job Preparation and Career Advancement Programs by:
      •  Recruiting speakers with subject-matter expertise in areas like finance, recruitment, HR, health & wellness, and upskilling such as AI, LinkedIn, Google Sheets
      • Scheduling workshops on our client scheduling platform
      • Marketing workshops to our client-base on our Program Newsletter and social channels
      • Hosting workshop day of by managing check-in, meal prep, and assisting the speaker with set-up
    • Manage monthly program newsletter to be sent to clients and community partners to drive attendance in programs
    • Schedule, train and retain volunteers in our career development focused jobs
    • Help with the smooth runnings of our monthly volunteer orientations 
    • Survey impact of programs and workshops after each workshop and with the annual survey
    • Assist with Program Navigation as needed and work alongside Program Navigator to ensure workshops are relevant to client populations evolving needs.
    • Support misc. program responsibilities such as scheduling and program facilitation as needed

    QUALIFICATIONS

    • Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent combination of education and experience
    • Previous experience in program coordination and development
    • Experience in direct services related to supporting individuals basic needs and/or employment
    • Experience recruiting and managing volunteers
    • Experience providing workshops, both as a facilitator and as an educator 
    • Strong understanding of intersectionality and trauma-informed care
    • Bilingual (English/Spanish) preferred
    • Demonstrated excellent written and verbal communication 
    • Demonstrated ability to multitask and manage multiple projects simultaneously
    • Computer skills and knowledge of relevant software, such as Google Suite, Microsoft Office, Zoom. Preferred experience with CRMs such as Salesforce
    • Dedication to supporting and furthering diversity & inclusion inside and outside of the organization

    COMPENSATION

    Wage: Range $50,000-$55,000 annual salary

    Insurance: Full medical and dental insurance

    FSA: Access to flexible spending account

    PTO: 120 hours (annual) not including 10 paid holidays and 1 holiday break between Christmas Eve to New Years Day.
