C4AT is looking for a new Executive Director to support its existing programs, strengthen its already healthy financial position and provide vision and leadership for its future. The ED will be responsible for working with C4AT’s experienced staff and Board of Directors to implement programmatic and financial objectives. The ED is C4AT's ambassador to constituents, business partners, collaborators, and donors, and also serves on the Ed Roberts Campus (ERC) Board of Directors.

This is an in-person, full-time salaried position located at the ERC in Berkeley. The ED will report to the C4AT Board of Directors. Located in South Berkeley, C4AT is a partner in the Ed Roberts Campus. Built by and for people with disabilities, the ERC is a unique model of universal design.

    The Executive Director will:

      1. Advance the organization’s mission by supporting existing programs and assume overall accountability for the continued success of these programs in the future.
      2. Champion a vision for the organization and guide the development, implementation, assessment, and management of short-term and long-range strategic plans for the organization, with input from the Board and in collaboration with staff.
      3. Serve as the public face of the organization, representing the agency and its mission to the media, the public, government agencies, allies, and other stakeholders. Build connections and relationships with a wide variety of groups (public, private, government, constituent, etc.) to build awareness of existing programs to support, enhance or expand C4AT’s programs and services.
      4. Communicate effectively for the organization and its mission, both within and outside the agency, using non-violent, collaborative, and power-sharing models and methods of communication and relationship-building.
      5. Cultivate and demonstrate a climate of equity, justice, accessibility, inclusiveness and personal professional growth.
      6. Manage the continued financial health of the organization through maintaining current fee-for-service programs and securing outside funds to support the mission and goals of the organization.
      7. As appropriate and with staff input, creatively explore and propose thoughtful expansion of fee-for-service programs that advance C4AT’s mission, meet identified needs and financially sustain the organization.
      8. Develop and manage the annual budget including approval of expenditures and allocation of agency resources.
      9. Support the Board in its governance role including preparation of management reports on the condition of the organization and financial statements for review by the Board of Directors.
      10. Ensure that the agency complies with all relevant laws, regulations and internal policies set by the Board.
      11. As requested, assist with Board development.
      12. Serve as the Contract Officer and Chief Risk Manager for the organization.
      13. Successfully integrate into and lead the strong staff of the organization including coordination and completion of performance reviews as well as hiring, firing and establishment of reasonable accommodation of staff.
      14. Oversee sound HR practices and implementation.
      15. Participate on the Board of the Ed Roberts Campus.
