    MANP is seeking an organized, detail-oriented, dynamic relationship-builder to serve as our full-time Funder Engagement Manager. This position plays a key role in stewarding, developing, tracking, and expanding funding relationships, including program sponsors, corporate partners, and foundations.

    Overview of Responsibilities

    • The Funder Engagement Manager will have the following specific responsibilities with direction from the Executive Director and in the context of a collaborative (and fun!) staff. Formulate and execute annual fund development plans with the Executive Director.
    • Develop and manage corporate sponsor relationships, including crafting asks, producing gift acknowledgements/sponsorship confirmations, developing necessary reports, and ensuring that benefits and acknowledgement aligns with commitments.
    • Support the Executive Director in the stewardship and growth of the Foundation Leadership Circle, including organizing an annual event.
    • Research grant opportunities, maintain an annual calendar of application deadlines, and contribute to the development of proposals, as assigned.
    • Work with the Membership Engagement Manager to steward and grow the “Friend” membership program.
    • Oversee and maintain records of all contributions, sponsorships, and grant awards.
    • Provide regular reports on progress against development goals to the Executive Director and Advancement Committee.
    • Monitor, attend and represent MANP at networking events and educational programs hosted by funding partners.
    • Participate in the development and implementation of strategic plans, work plans, and other organization-wide efforts to advance MANP’s mission and goals.
    • Actively participate in ongoing learning about equity, diversity and inclusion, and how MANP can advance these values in our work.
    • Design and deliver virtual and in person presentations about the organization, when needed.
    • Support the production of MANP online and in person events and programs, when needed.

    Qualifications

    We are excited to read applications from people with a wide range of work and life experiences. The candidate we hire will possess some combination of the following:

    • 3-5 years relevant experience in nonprofit development or related field, ideally including grant opportunity tracking. Experience with grant writing a plus.
    • Deep appreciation of the value of the nonprofit sector and commitment to MANP’s mission.
    • Excellent organizational and project management skills, including the ability to prioritize and manage multiple deadlines independent of direct supervision.
    • Experience working in a collaborative, dynamic team setting.
    • Strong written and interpersonal communication skills, including the ability to use courtesy and discretion in addressing the needs of multiple internal and external stakeholders simultaneously.
    • Ability to design and present compelling material in a variety of formats
    • Ability to bring flexibility and creativity to planning and problem-solving and take initiative to propose and implement improvements.
    • Experience working with people from diverse ethnic, socioeconomic and cultural communities, as well as a demonstrated commitment to diversity, equity and inclusion.
    • Proficient computer/web-based software skills, including Microsoft Office, Google Apps, CRM databases, and Zoom, and an enthusiasm for learning and using new technology. Experience with design applications such as Canva or Adobe InDesign a plus.
    • Valid insurance and driver’s license, and willingness to travel throughout Maine.
    • Event setup can involve moving tables and chairs and some moderate lifting (up to 25 pounds) on an occasional basis (accommodation may be possible).
