    Description

    Position Overview: SMS is seeking a detail-oriented and organized Program Manager to join our team. This individual will be responsible for overseeing the daily operations, assisting with the management of a team of California Climate Action Corps (CCAC) fellows, and providing support in program development, grant administration, and community engagement. The ideal candidate will have a passion for sustainability, strong leadership skills, and experience in program management.

    Key Responsibilities

    • Develop and implement operational best practices and procedures to improve efficiency, tracking, and communication.
    • Facilitate strong relationships with school districts, community partners, fellows, funding sponsors, and stakeholders to advance SMS programs.
    • Assist the Executive Director in coordinating Fellow assignments, projects, and growth.
    • Contribute to grant proposals and donation requests.
    • Manage budget and ensure successful submissions to Fiscal Sponsor

    Qualifications:

    • Bachelor’s degree in environmental science, education, public administration, or a related field. 
    • Two years of experience or more as a program manager, preferably in the nonprofit sector.
    • Strong leadership and team management skills.
    • Detail-oriented organizational, budgeting, and project management abilities.
    • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills.
    • Demonstrated experience in budget management and financial reporting.
    • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
    • Proficiency in GSuite and experience with project management tools
    • Passion for sustainability and environmental education.
    • Ability to speak Spanish and experience working with schools is a plus.
