    About Queen Anne Helpline

    Founded in 1982, Queen Anne Helpline (QAH) prevents homelessness through financial assistance in the ZIP codes encompassing Queen Anne, Magnolia, Interbay, and South Lake Union neighborhoods of Seattle. QAH also provides supportive services to people regardless of ZIP code, including healthy food, dignified clothing and linens, hygiene supplies, and bus tickets. QAH serves over 2000 people each year, has 3 staff, dozens of volunteers, and an annual budget of over $500,000.

    Overview

    The Operations Coordinator (OC) provides administrative and program support to ensure the smooth ongoing functioning of the organization, reporting to the Executive Director (ED). This is a part-time, flexible position (approximately 24 hours/week) with pay ranging from $25-$27/hour DOE. The OC works directly with a broad spectrum of clients, volunteers, staff, and donors in our efforts to help neighbors access financial and supportive services. This team member also helps with planning and hosting community events and supports communications.

    Essential Responsibilities

    • Coordinate the day-to-day operations of the resource center, including client financial assistance as well as clothing, food, hygiene, and bus tickets.
    • Provide compassionate and culturally competent direct service to clients seeking homelessness prevention and/or stabilization services, obtaining necessary documentation and using client database to manage workflow and generate reports.
    • Hybrid weekly schedule includes requirement to be on-site in the resource center at least during the windows of Mondays 9:30am-2:30pm, Tuesdays 9:30am-2:30pm, and Thursdays 9:30am-6:00pm.
    • Work closely with the ED and bookkeeper on weekly and monthly accounting tasks, including processing payments to landlords and utility providers, W-9 forms, and monthly reporting.
    • Provide training and support to resource center volunteers and work-study students.
    • Provide excellent customer service to donors, responding promptly to all inquiries and facilitating the donation of in-kind goods that meet current needs.
    • Support communications efforts internally as well as representing QAH externally.
    • Support client-facing aspects of annual Thanksgiving grocery delivery to seniors.
    • Support community events as needed, including day-of support for fundraising events.
    • Other duties as assigned

    Qualifications

    • A minimum of three years experience in administration or operations role in the nonprofit sector (can be substituted for academic experience or transferrable experience in a different sector)
    • Excellent interpersonal skills
    • Personal commitment to creating a culture of diversity, inclusion, and belonging
    • Strong team orientation and passion for strengthening community
    • Familiarity with challenges related to structural inequities, preferably including lived experience related to marginalized identities
    • Excellent time management and thorough attention to detail
    • Ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a very active and open office environment, and to work outside of normal business hours as needed
    • Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English; multilingual proficiency strongly preferred in at least one non-English language commonly preferred in King County
    • Computer proficiency with experience using the Microsoft Office suite; both willingness and ability to learn other software as required, including OneDrive, SharePoint, QuickBooks Online, Apricot, Little Green Light, FlipCause, and Constant Contact
    • Position requires occasional lifting of up to 25 pounds
