    Description

    The Senior Director of Finance is responsible for YWCA Tulsa’s long-term financial health and growth.  They establish strategies to ensure financial stability, oversee accounting operations, produce accurate financial reports for the organization's Board of Directors and Leadership Teams, and improve or change current practices to increase efficiency. Their responsibilities include supervising financial operations, managing and providing ongoing training to accounting personnel, and conducting weekly and monthly financial evaluations. Also, the Senior Director will initiate budgets, allocate funds for capital projects, create annual financial plans and projections, as well as conduct an assessment of the financial risks and benefits of a business enterprise. 

    • Own the financial planning of the company by analyzing its performance and risks 
    •  Retain constant awareness of the company’s financial position and act to prevent problems 
    • Set up and oversee the company’s finance IT ERP system 
    • Set targets for and supervise all accounting and finance personnel (management accountants, internal auditors, etc.) 
    • Oversee all audit and internal control operations 
    •  Prepare timely and detailed reports on financial performance on a monthly and annual basis. 
    •  Provide financial statements and cash flow projections for use by the CEO, leadership team members, and the Board of Directors 
    •  Direct the Accounting Department procedures and systems necessary to maintain proper records and to afford adequate accounting controls and services.  
    • Direct and coordinate the establishment of budgets for each program and department.  
    •  Oversee the management and coordination of all fiscal reporting activities for the organization including organizational revenue/expense and balance sheet reports, funding reports to agencies, development and monitoring of organizational and contract/grant budgets.  
    •  Develop and maintain systems for internal controls to safeguard the financial assets of the organization and oversee federal awards and programs. 
    • Oversee the coordination and activities of independent auditors ensuring all audit matters identified by the independent auditors are appropriately resolved on a timely basis and that all 501(c)3 compliance requirements are met, including the preparation and filing of the Form 990 and the preparation of the annual financial statements are by Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) and federal, state, and other supplementary schedules and information. 
    • Work with the CEO and leadership team to ensure compliance with federal and state regulations, and contractual, and program requirements. 
    •  Participate in developing new and existing business services; specifically, to assist the CEO and Strategic Leadership team in the drafting of programmatic (and prospective) budgets and determining the cost-effectiveness of service delivery. 
    •  Provide the CEO with an operating/administrative budget. Oversee timeline and assist Directors and Managers in drafting the annual budget. 
    • Monitor banking activities of the organization ensuring that cash balances are reconciled on a timely basis. Provide cash flow projections to the CEO on a regular weekly basis and ensure a strategy to help us meet payables and cash flow needs promptly. 
    • Oversee all financial activities for government grants, including invoicing, budget preparation, and tracking to ensure we are properly spending down restricted funding by principals set forth by the Governmental Accounting Standards Board and the Financial Accounting Standards Board.  
    • Prepare budgets for grant proposals, and ensure the organization is tracking restricted funding and spending it under listed restrictions.  
    • Liaison to Finance Committee and Endowment Committee; attend Board of Director meetings.  Serve as YWCA representative as requested at various functions. Attend required YWCA Tulsa, staff, and department meetings.
    • Minimum of 2 - 3 years experience working with Non-Profit Accounting required
    • Experience working with federal grants required
