The Gallatin School of Individualized Study offers an interdisciplinary Master of Arts degree program at New York University for students who wish to create a course of study that reflects their intellectual interests and professional goals. Working closely with faculty advisers, students design an academically engaging path that draws from several disciplines across the various graduate schools of NYU. Students may attend on a full-time or part-time basis and have the option to include independent studies, tutorials, internships, and private lessons in the arts as part of the curriculum. The program culminates with a master’s thesis, which takes one of three forms: a scholarly research paper, an artistic work, or a professional project.
Located in Greenwich Village, in the heart of New York City, Gallatin offers the best of both worlds: a small-college atmosphere and the wealth of resources of NYU, a leading research institution.
