    Description

    The American-Italian Cancer Foundation (AICF) is seeking an Outreach Coordinator to join its Mobile, No-cost Breast Cancer Screening Program team. Working in partnership with community-based organizations, AICF provides breast cancer screening services to economically disadvantaged, medically underserved NYC women on its Mammogram Bus.

    Reporting to the Director of Cancer Screening Outreach, & Education, the Outreach Coordinator is responsible for meeting AICF’s screening goals by recruiting and scheduling screening hosts sites, coordinating outreach activities, supervising volunteers and outreach workers, and providing development support to the Director.

    Primary Responsibilities:

    1. Coordinating 220 Screening Events Per Year
      • Build and maintain relationships with community-based organizations in priority neighborhoods to schedule screenings.
      • Ensure that each screening host site has the support they need to recruit women to breast cancer screening events.
      • Facilitate additional outreach to ensure each site meets screening goals.
      • Create outreach materials tailored to each site’s needs.
      • Track the efficacy of each screening site in terms of location and patient recruitment.
      • Maintain and update screening calendar on AICF website and promoting events online.
    2. Volunteer/Outreach Worker Coordination
      • Recruit and oversee program interns and volunteers.
      • Supervise outreach workers and assign outreach tasks to outreach workers, volunteers, and staff.
    3. Community Outreach
      • Meet with screening sites, conduct breast health presentations, and attend community health fairs as needed.
      • Represent AICF at coalition meetings and community events.
    4. Development
    • Provide grant writing and reporting support as needed.
    • Assist with data collection and management.

    Preferred Qualifications:

      • Knowledge of, or interest in, women’s health issues and a desire to serve hard-to-reach/underserved populations.
      • High energy, “can do” attitude, persistence, and a sense of humor.
      • Excellent communication skills.
      • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
      • BA degree required
