Funded by a three-year SAMHSA grant, the Loudoun County Building Communities of Recovery (BCOR) Services Expansion project will enhance the lives of adolescents, adults and families with substance use disorder, opioid use disorder and co-occurring mental health issues seeking recovery in Loudoun County, Virginia and the neighboring region. This project focus is on expanding services for low to middle income groups, felons and the recently incarcerated, vulnerable youth and other marginalized groups.
The Building Communities of Recovery Project Coordinator is the individual who oversees the day-to-day management of the Loudoun Serenity House Building Communities of Recovery (BCOR) project. Along with the Project Director, the Project Coordinator is key personnel who makes a substantial contribution to the execution of the project. The key staff for this program will be the Project Director responsible for the oversight of the project and staff and the Project Coordinator who is involved in the day-to-day operations of the project.
The Project Coordinator oversees and coordinates project staffing, Participant enrollment, and data input, including work by certified Peer Recovery Specialists (cPRS) and PRS Interns. As the on-site manager for the project, the Project Coordinator is responsible to staff BCOR cPRS and PRS Interns and guide their execution of all project goals, objectives and participant outcomes. As a PRS, the Project Coordinator may engage directly with Participants to provide intakes, recovery capital assessments, peer coaching and 6-month follow up evaluations. The Project Coordinator also works with recovery support services partners to ensure Participant referrals are handled promptly and effectively.
Applicants must be able to lead a team and have strong communications skills to execute job responsibilities. Applicants should have lived experience with substance use disorder (SUD), opioid use disorder (OUD) or co-occurring (COD) mental health issues and be a certified Peer Recovery Specialist from Virginia DBHDS or have completed the 72-hour VA PRS training and working on their certification hours.
