Since 2014, the Florence Fang Community Farm (FFCF) has been making milestones from an abandoned acre of blighted land to an all-inclusive community farm that produces 9,000 pounds of fresh produce per year. Located in the heart of Bayview Hunters Point, San Francisco's most diverse and most underserved neighborhood, FFCF is the largest volunteer-based community farm in the city. Beyond harvesting produce, FFCF hosts programs for public school kids to learn about farming and healthy eating; for senior Chinese farmers grow traditional vegetables and celebrate cultural festivities together, and our Black Organic Farmers program utilizes half the land parcel to increase food security in District 10, identified as a food desert by the USDA. Two of our long-term goals are creating a more just local food system and to make the farm a more community centric venue. With these new ideas, the farm is seeking a Communications and Development manager to join us in realizing our vision for a healthier Bayview. The ideal candidate is a self-motivator who is able to work independently and to work well with others, manage volunteers as individuals and in teams, enjoys working outdoors, and can be present at the farm on a daily or frequent basis to provide feedback/guidance that supports the farm’s growth.
