    Description

    The Direct Response Associate helps support membership solicitation and fundraising efforts and provides customer support for KQED’s donors. This position works under the direction of the Associate Director of Direct Response Fundraising.

    KQED provide citizens of Northern California with a community-supported alternative to commercial media. We provide citizens with the knowledge they need to make informed decisions; convene community dialogue; bring the arts to everyone and engage audiences to share their stories. We help students and teachers thrive in 21st-century classrooms, and take people of all ages on journeys of exploration- exposing them to new people, places and ideas.

    This role will work hybrid between working in KQED's newly renovated headquarters and working remotely. KQED requires employees to be fully vaccinated against COVID-19.

    Salary Information: $32.00 - $40.00 per hour

    The successful candidate will be required to join NABET Local 51.

    Essential Functions: 

    • Project manage direct mail and email pieces that are prepared both internally and externally through our agency.
    • Assist with editing and reviewing written fundraising materials
    • Keep communication calendar organized and ensure mailings and emails don’t overlap unintentionally
    • Review data samples for fundraising efforts and ensure revisions that need to be made are done so and in a timely manner.
    • Assist with mailing lists and query generation to support campaigns and projects.
    • Participate in donor strategy sessions.
    • Responsible for fifteen hours of dedicated customer service each week to address inbound inquiries by phone and/or email and critical work assigned by their supervisor.
    • Work with Donor Relations team on thank-you gift inventory and management
    • Other duties as assigned 

    Candidate Qualifications:

    • Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to handle situations with tact and diplomacy.
    • Ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously and with ease, and efficiency.
    • Editing skills and a high level of attention to detail
    • Familiarity with AP style guide
    • Excellent organizational skills
    • Ability to work well independently and as part of a team.
    • High degree of proficiency with Google Suite, Microsoft Office Suite and Google Drive/Calendars.
    • Excellent spoken and written language skills.
    • Ability to maintain confidentiality.
    • Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines
    • A healthy understanding of the mission of KQED and an overall awareness of its programs and benefits to the community.
