    Conservation Allies (CA) is a nonprofit that acts as a bridge between US donors and nature conservation organizations, protecting biological diversity throughout the world. CA strives to help NGOs obtain the resources they need to make a major impact on habitat protection and biodiversity conservation. Through unique partnerships, CA provides financial and technical assistance, while also offering a donation platform to help raise funds for its partners’ exceptional conservation work. Currently, CA partners with more than ten organizations in Central and South America.

     

    Position Overview

    Conservation Allies is seeking an experienced and self-motivated conservationist to join our team and help manage our growing portfolio of projects and partners in Latin America. This position will involve working across a dozen or more countries, focusing on supporting CA partners with fundraising, providing capacity training, and assisting protected area management. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in field conservation and protected area management plus possess excellent entrepreneurial and communication skills.. 

     

    Location: working from home anywhere in Ecuador, Colombia, or Central America with significant (25+%) travel required to review progress and assist partners.

     

    Key Responsibilities:

    • Establish a strong working relationship with partners.
    • Monitor the progress of grants and partnerships by reviewing reports and field visits.
    • Provide advice, technical assistance, training, and support to partners.
    • Seek new projects and partners across the region.
    • Provide monthly updates with details of activities completed that month.
    • Liaise with other local conservation entities and authorities to help advance the projects.

    Qualifications and experience required:

    • A bachelor’s degree in biological sciences or another relevant field is essential. Master’s or doctorate degree is a bonus but not essential.
    • Required Experience:
      • 10+ years of related conservation and/or protected area management experience.
      • Examples of positive conservation impacts.
      • Strong writing and communication skills.
      • Passion for conservation and environmental issues in Latin America.  
      • Self-motivated and entrepreneurial.
      • Fluency in Spanish. English proficiency is ideal.
