SAADA is an organization on the rise, and we are seeking a Graphic Designer to support us in further solidifying SAADA as a national leader in community-driven storytelling. If you are a creative, conscientious, and detail-oriented individual, we invite you to come build with us!

    About the Role

As our Graphic Designer, you will play a key role in elevating SAADA’s brand identity and amplifying organizational recognition. You will work closely with SAADA’s Executive Director and use your strong art, design, and copy layout skills to help us create visually engaging digital and print materials. This is a position that requires a strong understanding of design principles, a creative mindset, high attention to detail, and strong communication skills.

    Who We Are

Over the past sixteen years, SAADA has grown from a modest digital repository to a powerhouse of South Asian American stories. Our archive, storytelling projects, artistic partnerships, walking tours, lesson plans, films, and books help ensure that South Asian Americans are recognized as an essential part of the American story. For more information about SAADA, visit our website; find us on Instagram; check out “Memories We Carry,” an exhibit created by one of our Archival Creators Fellows; or, listen to the soundtrack to our Revolution Remix walking tour of Philadelphia.

    Your Role & Responsibilities

    • Designing a range of engaging communication materials, including graphics for social media, newsletters, press releases, reports, etc.
    • Creating digital assets with strong visual appeal for our organization’s website, our “gift-shop” e-commerce site, and various projects.
    • Preparing final products for print and digital formats, ensuring accuracy and quality in all deliverables.
    • Creating and implementing consistent visual identity for all organizational projects, events, and collateral, including presentations, digital communications, and print communication.
    • Other duties and responsibilities as assigned.

    Your Background & Skill Set

    • At least 3 years of graphic design or related experience, in a professional setting.
    • Highly proficient in Adobe InDesign, Adobe Photoshop, Adobe Illustrator, PowerPoint, Excel, and any other design programs or relevant applications. Illustration skills are preferred, but not required.
    • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to communicate proactively and effectively.
    • Attention to detail and accuracy in all work tasks.
    • Ability to receive and implement constructive feedback, employing problem solving skills and showing amenable responsiveness to change.
    • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision and as part of a team.
    • Flexibility and adaptability to changing priorities and deadlines.
    • Commitment to confidentiality, an ability to exercise discretion, and a high level of professionalism.
