    Job Summary:

    Thrive Inc. and Phillips Community College of the University of Arkansas is seeking a motivated and dedicated individual for a one-year Design Education Fellowship. This fellow will play a crucial role in developing and implementing after-school workshops for Thrive Inc. and undergraduate graphic design courses for PCCUA. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in graphic design and education.

    Key Responsibilities:

    At Thrive Inc.

    Apx. 10-12 hours per week remote.. In-Person: One week per month during school year operating hands-on workshops M-F 3:30pm-6:30pm

    • Serve as the primary executor of Thrive’s after-school workshops with responsibilities including but not limited to: content planning and curriculum design; creating and communicating program calendar; scheduling and coordinating with visiting art/design teachers; monitoring and managing program database and program objectives and goals.
    • Communicate effectively with local youth, parents, and families to understand their needs and provide appropriate solutions.
    • Collaborate with community partners to enhance program offerings and outreach. At PCCUA, (Helena, AR Campus) each in-person courses to Graphic Design undergraduates Mon. & Tues. mornings. Teach remote courses to Graphic Design undergraduates Wed. & Thurs. Subjects include drawing, graphic art and design, and digital photography.
    • Create and deliver educational content using Blackboard.
    • Manage the University of Arkansas, School of Art, Master’s of Design student tutors.

    Qualifications:

    • Bachelor’s Degree required. Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree with an emphasis in
    • Non-profit or Art and Design preferred.
    • Preferred: 3-5 years of experience in afterschool or out-of-school time programs,nonprofit sector, or community development. Teaching experience highly preferred.

    Skills:

    • Excellent oral and written communication abilities.
    • Proficiency in computer software (word processing, spreadsheets, email, publishing,
    • video calling) and social media platforms.
    • Teaching experience preferred.
    • Experience using Blackboard or another learning management system as an instructor is a plus.
    • Other Requirements:
    • Preference for candidates can teach in-person on Mondays and Tuesdays.
