The Entertainment Community Fund (formerly The Actors Fund), a nationwide human services organization that helps all professionals in performing arts and entertainment, seeks a social worker for the Looking Ahead program to provide supportive counseling services for program youth, families and alumni in both individual and group settings. Social worker will also provide educational and transitional support services to program members, will facilitate in person and virtual program events, and may be called upon to provide mental health services on tv, film, commercial and theater sets and productions.
This is currently a hybrid position with the requirement of working 2 full days a week in our Los Angeles office.
RESPONSIBILITIES
The Looking Ahead social worker will engage with a wide variety of individuals, couples and families in a clinical process that facilitates the development of assessment and treatment plans. This includes clinical case management, mental health and educational support and serving as a liaison for other additional resources. Social worker will address issues such as anxiety, depression, suicidal ideations and other mental health and developmental issues prevalent in youth professional performers.
Social worker will provide services to support participants education and career development and their transition to adulthood. They will also facilitate clinical, psychoeducational, affinity and support groups, as well as develop seminars and training that directly address the needs of the community of child actors. May also be called upon to provide crisis intervention services to entertainment professionals in professional theater productions and on tv and film sets. Will conduct program outreach to industry stakeholders through in person and virtual presentations.
This position will work as part of a dynamic team to provide a calendar of program events throughout the month for program members, parents and alumni. Will also serve as a mentor to program youth to assist in the mission supporting youth manage the challenges of the entertainment industry and make successful transitions to adulthood.
